Patient deposits in ambulatory health care and day patient facility

 

The health care services which are considered to be ambulatory health care services are those which can be received in ambulatory care at a particular time and particular place – in out-patient hospitals or polyclinics, health centers and reception department. 

 

For instance, if a patient, in order to get a consultation visits a polyclinic for a meeting with a medical specialist or his or her family doctor, the patient does not need to get medical treatment in hospital. It is possible to get medical treatment either in ambulatory care under the supervision of the patient’s family doctor or attending a medical doctor.  

 

Any consultation via telephone is not considered to be ambulatory service, likewise a laboratory examination and visual diagnostics examination, as well as functional examination and medical procedure. 

 

  • For a visit to a family doctor in ambulatory care – 1.00 Ls;
  • For a visit to a doctor – specialist and his or her consultation – 3.00 Ls;
  • For getting treatment in a day patient facility – 5.00 Ls;
  • For the surgeries carried out in ambulatory care and in a day patient facility (for each surgery carried out) – 3.00 Ls

 

If families which consist of those joined in matrimony and those who have combined expenses for food and who live in one single lodging (hereinafter referred to as – family), and the income for each member of the family or the income for the last three months of those who live separately does not exceed 150 lats per month and this is confirmed by a reference issued by the social service of their local government, this person makes the patient deposit in the amount of 50 % from the patient deposit.

  

Family doctors have to provide with home visits to those patients, who due to their health conditions cannot visit the medical institution to get medical treatment in ambulatory care.

 

Home visits made by family doctors:

 

  • to children under the age of 18 – free of charge;
  • to the disabled having disability group I – free of charge;
  • home visits to patients who need sustained artificial pulmonary ventilation – free of charge;
  • to patients who receive palliative care (recumbent patients with particular diagnoses) and medical care at home – free of charge;
  • to patients older than 80 years – 2.00 Ls;
  • to persons with cases of influenza during influenza pestilence – 2.00 Ls;
  • to other patients – services at a charge.

 

 

Patient deposits for diagnostic examinations in ambulatory care and in a day patient facility:

 

  • Electrocardiographic examinations – 1.00 Ls;
  • Non-invasive functional examinations of the heart -  3.00 Ls;
  • Functional examinations of trunk blood-vessels of head and extremities – 3.00 Ls;
  • Neuroelectric physiological examinations – 3.00 Ls;
  • Functional examinations of gastrointestinal tract – 3.00 Ls;
  • Endoscopic examinations – 5.00 Ls;
  • Sonoscope examinations – 3.00 Ls;
  • Roentgenological examinations without radiopaques – 2.00 Ls; 
  • Roentgenological examinations with radiopaques (you can cash in once per one visit) – 2.00 Ls; 
  • Radionuclide diagnostics – 3.00 Ls;
  • Computer tomographic examinations without intravenous radiopaques (you can cash in once in the course of one visit or one examination) – 10.00 Ls;
  • Computer tomographic examinations with intravenous radiopaques (carrying out an examination without radiopaques, which is immediately followed by one with radiopaques, you cash in a patient payment only for the examination with radiopaques) – 15.00 Ls;
  • Nuclear magnetic resonance examinations without radiopaques (you can cash in once in the course of one visit or one examination) – 20.00 Ls;
  • Nuclear magnetic resonance examinations with intravenous radiopaques (carrying out an examination without radiopaques, which is immediately followed by one with radiopaques, you cash in a patient payment only for the examination with radiopaques) – 25.00 Ls;
  • Coronography in a day patient facility (examination with radiopaques) – 7.00 Ls.

 

For those laboratary examinations which are paid by the State, patient deposit is not paid. However, Health Payment Center does not pay for taking blood samples of ambulatory patients, excluding, nevertheless, children and pregnant women. Some laboratory examinations are paid for only provided that there is a referral or a recommendation from a medical specialist. 

 

To diagnostic examinations and ambulatory surgeries in the institution, the services of which are paid for by the State, a patient might be recommended by either a family doctor or a doctor – specialist.
